Linda Puiatti: Recent works
Saturday May 20 from 2 to 5 pm.
We are thrilled to have Linda Puiatti’s work at Oak&Oil for another solo show!
Linda Puiatti paints the quiet beauty of the Hudson Valley; Cottages appear in peaceful landscapes, minimally rendered and illuminated by dramatic light and mood.
Gentle seascapes and ocean vistas are abundant, inspired by dreamy summers in Cape Cod.
In total, the play of light and shadow on landscape and structures continues to be Puiatti’s muse.
Show runs from May 20 – June 18
Fall into Fall
In the months of September and October we showcased the works of several local artists and their Fall-Inspired Art.
We loved the different artistic interpretations of Autumn, it was a colorful preview of what was to come from mother nature’s real thing!

Julie Betts Testwuide
“Herons of Bedford”
Photographer and artist, has been captivated by the beauty and grace of the prehistoric looking great blue herons that silently stalk their prey in Beaver Dam River in Katonah. When she came across 22 nesting pairs of great blue herons in the swamp off of Old Post Road near Stone Hill Road she planted herself overlooking the swamp with her telephoto lens in hand. Julie focused on the nests where she found the newborns waiting eagerly for their parents delivering the bounty. This summer you will have the opportunity to see the beauty of these stately birds as she captured them seemingly dancing in flight, feeding their young and standing guard over the next generation of these four-foot-tall birds which will grace out streams and ponds for years to come. Julie prints the images on fine art watercolor paper and canvas using desaturated color and techniques that make the images appear painterly, resembling lithographs.

June 11 – July 6
“The Power of Beauty”
From June 11th to July 6th we had the pleasure to exhibit the works of a very talented New Zealand artist: Jillian Marie Dyson, a passionate marine painter, one who must paint every day before the last of the silvery northern light slips from the sky.
Dyson grew up on a coastal farm in New Zealand’s beautiful Bay of Islands; it was here, in these magnificent shorelines that she developed a lifelong passion for the sea and sky and her desire to become a fine artist. Her Impressionist-style work is described as timeless and it’s reminiscent of Turner and Monet. We brought her European style masterpieces to Katonah and they were enjoyed by our visitors, customers and friends! Thank you all who visited and attended the opening reception and wine tasting!
“Paintings, Drawings, Sculpture Through the Years”
A truly remarkable journey through years of creativity and growth!
it was a lot of fun to see all the different mediums that Michael has mastered through the years. Whatercolors, Acrylics, Oils, Charcoal, Mixed Media and sculptures.
We are honored to have had so many of his works at once in our Gallery in Katonah! We hope to have the pleasure again, but in the meantime we will always have several of his works here on our walls!
Puiatti and Hammerstein
April 23 – May 8 2016
“Oil Paintings from Life”
Another fabulous Exhibit at Oak&Oil, two very talented and accomplished artists, one on each side of the gallery, a juxtaposition of styles and themes.
On one side the energy and bustle of the city, with the vibrancy of city lights reflected in the wet pavement and back into windows and buildings, creating energy and movement; a reflection of Andy Hammerstein energetic, diversified artistic style.
On the other side of the gallery, the evocative images of open spaces, meadows, seascapes and bright barns reflecting Linda Puiatti’s painting style; her observation and study of light, and how it changes our daily landscape.
