"I’m drawn to the watercolor medium for its meditative process. My hope is that viewers are left with a similar sense of tranquility"

Sarah Crossman is a painter and New York native with a keen appreciation of nature.

She primarily works in watercolor, and is drawn to its challenging, meditative process. The medium’s transparency enables subtle effects through dozens of carefully considered layers.
Her serene paintings are inspired by the birds and botanical subjects in her garden and local environment.

She strives to capture fleeting moments of beauty through close observation of light, texture, and delicate details.

Sarah has a BA in English and Classics from Skidmore College, where she also studied studio art.

More recently she completed Botanical Art & Illustration courses at the New York Botanical Garden.

She lives in Bedford, NY.
