A Spring Preview

This beautiful collection of floral paintings was created especially for us and our Spring exhibit, the first for the year in conjunction with the Katonah Art Stroll, first of the Season. But sometimes life doesn't agree with our plans so this exhibit moved online for everyone to enjoy.  Cynthia's lusciously rendered florals explore intimate compositions, graceful and sharper lines, value shifts, varied texture, space and overall mood. Cynthia paints in oils and uses watercolor or acrylic as under-paintings to add dimensional interest. Her painting surfaces vary using linen, paper, board, aluminum and stainless steel; the favored substrate is flat and smooth in order to allow for her own gestural painting texture.
